Eleni Popori MRCOG, Mphil, RCOG/RCR diploma, BSCCP, DFFP Consult in Obstetrics and Gynaecology

In 1997 she qualified from the Medical School of Thessaloniki, where she was studying with scholarship.
After that she had general training in Paros, Greece and general, oncological and laparoscopic training in Agioi Anargiroi Hospital, kifissia, Athens, Greece.

From 2000 to 2004 she was specialized in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the UK. She had excellent rotational training in all the subspecialties of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She worked in busy university and general hospitals that had big numbers of deliveries (> 5500 deliveries per year) and big numbers of operations per year, such as Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Queen Mothers Hospital και Wishaw General Hospital.

She is member of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, MRCOG. The RCOG is an institution that observes, regulates and reassures the high level continuing education and service of all its members.

After two years structured education and subspecialisation in obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound, and having succeeded in the written and oral examination she obtained the RCOG/RCR Diploma in Advanced Obstetric Ultrasound. At the same time she was specialised in Foetal Medicine and High Risk Pregnancy.

As far as gynaecology is concerned she was trained in Laparoscopic Surgery and Conventional Transvaginal and Transabdominal Gynaecological Surgery and she was subspecialized in Colposcopy. After structured education and after having succeeded in the written and oral examination she obtained the BSCCP Diploma in Colposcopy.

In addition to that, she was involved in the study of legal and ethical issues and protection of women’s rights, mainly concentrating on the rights of the woman and the mother. She was awarded the postgraduate title of MphilinMedicalLawandEthics, LawDepartmentofGlasgowUniversity.

She has presented several scientific papers in Greek and International congresses. Also she has published scientific articles in greek and international papers and she has taken part in writing medial books.
She is trainer in Advanced Life Support In Obstetrics ALSO, and she has taken part in international training trips of ALSO in Malawi, Africa. Since 2011 she is working in the Foetal Medicine Department of IASO Hospital and she is contributing on the effective diagnosis and treatment of the genetic and structural foetal anomalies and follow up of high risk pregnancies.
